Woman, 93, Killed In St. Paul Crash Thursday

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – St. Paul Police are investigating what led up to a crash that killed a 93-year-old woman on Thursday.

Police were called to the accident at about 12:15 p.m. at the intersection of East Third Street and Earl Street. When authorities got to the scene, there were two vehicles on the northeast corner of the intersection.

Authorities said an investigation showed one vehicle was headed northbound on Earl Street and the other was headed eastbound on East Third Street when the two collided. The force of the collision sent one vehicle into a bus stop bench and the other into a tree.

Police said three adults inside the car that hit the bench were not seriously hurt. A woman riding in the other car and two others were taken to United Hospital. The woman later died of her injuries. She has been identified as Marion Bertella Krey of St. Paul.

Authorities said what led to the crash is still under investigation.
