MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said nobody was hurt but a home was destroyed by fire in St. Louis County on Monday.

Crews were called to the scene at about 3:50 p.m. on the 8100 block of Highway 2 in Brevator Township. When they arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames. As many as eight fire departments were called to provide assistance and Highway 2 was shut down for a short time to bring extra water in.

Fire officials said nobody in the home was hurt in the fire, but the house is a total loss. Authorities said it appears the fire started after a resident of the home was attempting to thaw frozen pipes due to extreme cold.
