GOP's McFadden Has $1.7M On Hand For Senate Bid

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota Republican Senate candidate Mike McFadden raised another $780,000 for his campaign in the last three months of 2013 and has $1.7 million in the bank for his bid to run against incumbent Democrat Al Franken this year.

McFadden's campaign released his fourth-quarter fundraising tally Thursday. He's one of five Republicans seeking to unseat Franken, and so far has proven the most formidable fundraiser.

The other candidates are state lawmakers Julianne Ortman and Jim Abeler, St. Louis County Commissioner Chris Dahlberg and bison farmer Monti Moreno. So far, none have come near McFadden's fundraising tallies.

Franken has not released his latest totals, but as of October he already had $3.9 million on hand and raised $2.1 million from July to October.
