Man Arrested In Connection To N. Minn. Homicide

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - Authorities in northern Minnesota have a suspect in custody after a 55-year-old man was murdered on Monday.

According to the St. Louis County Sheriff's office, the Babbitt Police Department responded to a medical emergency call just after 11 a.m. and found Paul John Bulen lying injured on a road.

Bulen was brought to an Ely hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police arrested 24-year-old Shawn Russel Doherty, who is currently being held in the St. Louis County Jail in Virginia pending formal charges.

Authorities have not disclosed the relationship between Bulen and Doherty.

The incident remains under investigation.

Babbitt is about 100 miles northeast of Duluth.
