ONTONAGON, Mich. (AP) — A Minnesota father and his adult son have been rescued after being stranded overnight in blizzard, sub-zero weather while snowmobiling in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

Michigan State Police 1st Lt. Donald E. Horn says that searchers found 40-year-old Benjamin Jenney Sr. and 19-year-old Benjamin Jenney Jr. on Monday afternoon in Ontonagon County. The site is near the Porcupine Mountains State Park in western upper Michigan.

Horn says the Jenneys had no survival gear. He says they texted about 5:30 p.m. EST Sunday that they were stuck in the woods and again about 8:30 p.m. that they were trying to walk out.

Horn says the Albertville, Minn., residents had symptoms of hypothermia and dehydration but were in overall good condition. He says they were taken to Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital for treatment.
