Gophers' Adam Wilcox Earns Big 10 Honor

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – After earning MVP honors in the North Star College Cup, goalie Adam Wilcox earned weekly honors from the Big Ten Conference on Tuesday.

Wilcox was named the Big Ten Conference's Third Star of the Week after a big weekend in the North Star College Cup at Xcel Energy Center. Wilcox made 38 saves to lead the Gophers to a 4-1 win over St. Cloud State last Friday and made 38 more saves in a 4-4 tie with Minnesota-Duluth. The Gophers won that game in a shootout, with Wilcox making two stops as Minnesota won the tournament. Wilcox had a .938 save percentage in the tournament.

Wilcox leads the Big Ten and is tied for second in the nation with 17 wins in net for the Gophers. He's also unbeaten in his last 12 games, which is the longest active streak in the country.

The Gophers (18-2-3) remain the No. 1-ranked team in the latest national polls released Monday. They host Michigan State in a two-game Big Ten series Friday and Saturday at Mariucci Arena.
