MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities are on the scene of a car fire on Highway 169 in Brooklyn Park that sent one person to the hospital.
Hennepin County Dispatch officials said emergency crews responded to the scene at about 5:20 a.m. on Highway 169 near Interstate 94. Authorities said the driver of the car hit the median, and the vehicle caught fire. The car was fully engulfed in flames when crews got to the scene.
Eric Roeske with the Minnesota State Patrol said the driver was pulled from the burning vehicle and taken to North Memorial Hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Crews shut down Highway 169 for a short time to assess the accident, but the southbound lanes started to reopen just after 6 a.m.
