Chanhassen Star Ragnow Commits To Arkansas

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – With National Signing Day less than a week away for high school football recruits, Chanhassen star Frank Ragnow made one of the biggest decisions of his life.

Ragnow is an offensive lineman coveted by many schools across the country. He narrowed a long stressful recruiting process to three schools in Minnesota, Florida State and Arkansas. Ragnow made a verbal commitment Friday in front of his friends and family at Chanhassen High School.

The senior picked up and put on the hat for Arkansas, where he will be on the offensive line for former Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema. He said in the end, playing in one of the top conferences in the country was a big factor in heading south.

"I mean it's SEC football. You can lie and talk about how the Big Ten is up there and everything else, but SEC football, playing Auburn, Alabama, LSU, Texas A & M every single week, it's a battle. It's the best competition and that's where I want to go," Ragnow said.

Ragnow will sign a letter of intent to make heading to Arkansas official on Wednesday, National Signing Day.

There's still one hot prospect left that hasn't made it official where he's headed. Washburn running back Jeff Jones gave the Gophers a soft verbal commitment a year ago. He'll make his official announcement on National Signing Day.
