Kenwood Among America's Best Romantic Restaurants

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- When it comes to the most romantic new restaurants in America, The Kenwood in Minneapolis is among the top, according to Travel + Leisure Magazine.

The magazine, which released a list of America's Best New Romantic Restaurants in its February 2014 issue, listed The Kenwood among the 17 other top spots, saying even the Royal couple would feel right at home here.

That's perfectly fitting since its chef, Don Saunders, began his culinary aspirations while in London.

The magazine mentions Kenwood's rustic decor -- "a Great Lakes take on the traditional English hunting lodge complete with plaid-lined walls, tufted-leather banquettes, and thick-framed portraits of horses and hounds."

But saves the bulk of the credit for Saunders' rich and romantic menu -- "wild boar pappardelle and brown butter–slathered trout, an indulgent cassoulet features silky pork belly, duck confit, and bacon-infused Toulouse sausage."

The article states it based its rankings on the restaurants' seductive settings and intimate service -- but above all, the incredible "mouthwatering cuisine."

The Kenwood joins other notable restaurants like José Andrés' Mi Casa in Puerto Rico and The Cypress Room in Miami.
