MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The woman struck and dragged by a commercial truck near Lake Calhoun Wednesday is in critical condition at Hennepin County Medical Center.

According to Minneapolis Police, 25-year-old Caitlan Christine Barton was trying to walk across West Lake Street on a green light, when she was hit by a truck.

The driver, whose vehicle was initially next to Barton as they waited at the red light, began to turn onto Lake Street from West Market Plaza while Barton began walking.

Barton was dragged about 25 feet, and first responders say she suffered serious head injuries.

The driver stayed at the scene, cooperated with police and was not ticketed.
