Working For The Weekend: Entertainment Best Bets
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — It’s almost the weekend, so let’s get planning. It’s Valentine’s Day weekend, so in honor of Cupid, Natalie Nyhus has events that you can do with your honey or best friend.
Lake Elmo Snowshoeing
How romantic is this? Snowshoe by candlelight on Saturday night from 5 to 9:30 p.m. at Lake Elmo Park reserve. The cross-country skiers, snowshoe’ers, hikers and their pups can access the candlelit 2.5-mile trail. Warm up fireside and sip free apple cider. There will be an outdoor bonfire, too.
Cupid’s Undie Run
Ready or not, Cupid’s Undie Run is back. On Saturday, it’s a nearly nude dash with nearly 1,000 undie-clad Minnesotans. The shuffle will cruise down Nicollet Mall starting at 2 p.m. It’s not just empty prurience, either; it’s actually for a good cause. The thrilling — and chilling — event raises money for the Children’s Tumor Foundation.
Minnesota Golf Show
Many would argue that golf can be romantic, right? They’ll try to talk their significant others into kicking off this year’s golf season at the Minnesota Golf Show starting on Friday. It’s a weekend-long event with dozens of exhibits, an indoor driving range and $100,000 putt challenge. The event is being held at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
