MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Authorities have identified the man found shot to death in south Minneapolis Sunday afternoon.

Just before 4 p.m., police responded to a shots fired report on the 3400 block of Snelling Avenue South. When police arrived, they found a man dead in the back of a black SUV. He had been shot in the head.

On Sunday, Police spokesman John Elder said a suspect fled the scene prior to the arrival of police. It wasn’t immediately clear whether the shooting was intentional or random.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the man as 35-year-old Adrian Carr of St. Louis Park, Minn. The manner of death was confirmed as a homicide.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to send a text to 847-411, enter MPD and the tip. Tips are anonymous. You can also call the tip line at 612-692-8477.
