Working For The Weekend: Entertainment Best Bets
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — It’s almost the weekend, so let’s get planning. If you want entertainment, you can take a polar plunge, see your favorite Disney characters or watch the Oscars in style.
How many times have you heard the phrase: “Cold enough for ya?” Well for some, it isn’t. They are taking the Polar Plunge Saturday 11 a.m. at Thomas Beach on Lake Calhoun. It takes courage, bravery and a little insanity to take the jump, but it’s for a good cause. The event raises money for the Special Olympics Minnesota.
Disney On Ice Presents ‘Let’s Celebrate’
Disney On Ice presents “Lets’ Celebrate” at Target Center starting this weekend. It’s a colossal party on ice with all of your favorite Disney friends like Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Buzz Lightyear and Lilo & Stitch. The show also features local skater Gretchen Hayes.
The 21st Annual Oscar Experience Minneapolis
The Oscars are this weekend and you should experience them in style. The 21st Annual Oscar Experience Minneapolis is Sunday, March 2 at Muse Event Center in Minneapolis. It’s the only party officially sanctioned by The Oscars, and is the longest running Oscar party in the U.S., outside of Los Angeles. Guests will walk the red carpet and join hundreds of glamorous attendees for a three-course meal, games to predict the winners and, of course, to watch the Oscars. Two stars of the Oscar-nominated film Captain Phillips from Minneapolis will be at the party.
