MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — It’s been one of the most miserable winters in history, so it doesn’t hurt to look ahead to the hot days of the Minnesota State Fair. Now, three shows for the 2014 Grandstand Concert Series have been announced — and one band includes a recent Academy Award winner.
Staring on Aug. 23, Kid Rock is confirmed for 7:30 p.m. and tickets start at $51.50. An opening act will be added at a later date. Tickets go on sale Saturday.
The Happy Together Tour 2014 starring The Turtles featuring Flo & Eddie, Chuck Negron (formerly of Three Dog Night), Gary Lewis & The Playboys, Mark Farner (formerly of Grand Funk Railroad) and Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels is set for Aug. 25. Tickets are $21 and go on sale this Saturday.
Linkin Park, Thirty Seconds To Mars (featuring best supporting actor Jared Leto) with special guest AFI is confirmed for 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 26. Tickets start at $51 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.
Additional acts will be announced in the coming months. The State Fair runs from Aug. 21 through Labor Day, Sept. 1.
