Army Reserve Soldiers Welcomed Home At Ft. Snelling

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — There was a welcome home ceremony Friday at Fort Snelling for more than 20 Minnesota soldiers.

The Army Reserve soldiers all worked in mail duty, and they were deployed in the Middle East in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

“We’re being honored for coming home, and for serving our time away from our country, away from our families, away from our employers,” said Staff Sgt. John White of Bloomington.

He says they got back to Minnesota around Christmas time just when the brutal cold started.

He added that some of the troops wished they had stayed in the heat of the Middle East for a few more months.
