6-Year-Old Boy Hit By Vehicle Near Bus Stop ID'd

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 6-year-old boy was hit by a vehicle Monday morning while crossing the street to get to his school bus, according to the Stearns County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities said the incident happened around 7:26 a.m. near the 21000 block of County Road 7 in St. Augusta, Minn.

A Hendrick school bus was traveling south on County Road 7 for a scheduled stop to pick up three children near the location of the accident.

While en route, the boy began to cross County Road 7 and was struck by a 2004 Pontiac Bonneville traveling northbound.

The boy was transported by ambulance to St. Cloud Hospital where he's listed in good condition. He has been identified as Kyle Voigt of South Haven.

The incident remains under investigation by the Stearns County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities are hoping the driver of a red vehicle, which was traveling behind the Pontiac, will come forward and provide additional information in the case. The sheriff's office is asking that driver to contact them at 320-251-4240.
