Local Music Tap: Howler Album Release @ Triple Rock
Minneapolis-born Howler is set to release its second LP, "World Of Joy," with a release show at the Triple Rock Thursday night.
The fuzzy pop rock four-piece recently regrouped in Minneapolis (adding drummer Rory MacMurdo) after a tour spanning multiple continents in support of The Vaccines -- and a NME headlining tour.
Now, lead singer Jordan Gatesmith says the band, with its obvious The Strokes-like inspiration, is ready to branch out a bit with its new record.
"The idea of this record is to expand the vocabulary of what the band does. There's a time for us to be pretentious little a--holes. There's that [on there] but there's also plenty of bratty rock'n'roll," Gatesmith said.
The album release show is set for the Triple Rock at 8 p.m. Thursday (18+). Click here for more information.
