MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Jared Allen wants a ring. That’s why the former Minnesota Viking is on the verge of signing a contract with the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks.
While nothing is official, Allen made his second visit with Pete Carroll and the Seahawks in the past 24 hours. His agent said he will decide this weekend.
At this point of his career, Allen might be a situational player, but what a nice situation to be in on a defense, which led the NFL in fewest points and yards allowed.
The Vikings wanted to go younger on the defensive line and it was a foregone conclusion by both parties that Allen wasn’t going to return next year.
