ST. CLOUD, Minn. (WCCO/AP) — Police in St. Cloud are investigating the death of a pedestrian who was hit by a train.

The incident happened about 7 a.m. Thursday. Officials said the pedestrian was 52-year-old Carol Jean Oltz, of St. Cloud.

Two train crossings were closed as St. Cloud police and Minnesota State Patrol investigated.

The train was blocking east-west traffic on both St. Germain Street East as well as 7th Street Southeast, near the Lincoln Depot.

Motorists were encouraged to use alternate routes Thursday morning.
