Crews Battle Grass Fire In Watertown

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Fire crews battled a grass fire Tuesday afternoon 30 miles west of the Twin Cities, officials say, after a permitted burn got out of control.

The Carver County Sheriff's Dispatch says it received a call about the fire on the 3900 block of Quass Avenue in Watertown, Minn., just after 2:20 p.m.

Fire crews from multiple communities responded to the fire, which was difficult to fight due to high winds.

At the time of writing, the fire is still blazing, but officials say it is contained.
