MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 25-year-old man was killed Tuesday morning in a head-on collision in St. Louis County, according to officials.

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the crash around 7:21 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Midway Road and North Cloquet Road.

Witnesses at the scene told police a black Toyota Tacoma was driving southbound on Midway Road when it crossed the center line into oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with a northbound semi tractor trailer.

The semi is owned by Kraemer Crane, of Duluth. The driver was transported to Essentia Hospital in Duluth with non-life threatening injuries.

The 25-year-old driver of the Toyota, identified as Benjamin Edward Snyder, of Wrenshall, Minn., was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident is under investigation.
