MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — It’s nearly the weekend, and now’s the time to figure out your entertainment plans. Many kids will be on the hunt for eggs, while other folks can run the sweetest race in town. And it’s also your last chance to hit up a film festival.
Easter Egg Hunts
It’s Easter weekend, and there are egg hunts all over Minnesota this Saturday and Sunday. They are great fun for families, with festivities for children from babies through elementary school. Plymouth, St. Paul, Chanhassen, and Rosemount are just a few of the cities hosting egg hunts. Almost all also have other activities like music, food and games for all ages.
Hot Chocolate 5K
Saturday is the Hot Chocolate 5K, the sweetest race in town. The run takes place in the St. Anthony neighborhood of Minneapolis and benefits the Ronald McDonald House. Runners can look forward to scenic route through downtown, a fleece hoodie, a finisher’s mug filled with chocolate fondue, and (of course) hot chocolate.
Minneapolis-St. Paul International Film Festival
The Minneapolis St Paul International Film Festival wraps up this weekend. If you haven’t checked out one of the many films screening in the Twin Cities, this is your last chance. The closing night feature is The Skeleton Twins, starring Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader. It screens at the St. Anthony Main Theatre. Tickets are still available for the 7:30 p.m. screening, which includes a closing night party at Aster Cafe.
