Man Accidentally Shot In Crow Wing Co.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A man accidentally shot himself in the abdomen in Fifty Lakes, Minn. Friday evening.

According to officials, police responded to a call of a possible home intrusion around 5:17 p.m.

When officers reached the house they learned the man who called — 61-year-old James Brustad — had suffered a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

After investigating, police found no sign of a prowler.

Police said the gunshot appeared to be a result of an accidental discharge of the firearm by the resident.

Brustad was treated on the scene and flown by air ambulance to St. Cloud Hospital.

His condition was not immediately known.
