Police Chase Ends With Crash In Maplewood
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The driver of a pick-up truck being chased by police was hospitalized Wednesday morning after the pursuit ended with the truck crashing into a brick wall in Maplewood, according to police.
Authorities said the chase started at about 2:40 a.m. in Minneapolis on Highway 55 near Interstate 94. Metro Transit Police spotted a pick-up truck that was speeding. A pursuit started as authorities followed the truck on Interstate 35W and eventually east onto Highway 36 in Roseville. The chase ended with the truck hitting a brick wall and tree at County Road B and Arcade Street in Maplewood.
Police said the driver of the truck was taken to Regions Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Authorities are still investigating what led up to the chase.
The incident is under investigation with assistance from Maplewood Police and the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office.
