MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A husband and wife were involved in an apparent murder-suicide at a residential care center in Worthington Friday evening.

Worthington Police responded to a report of gunshots fired in a room at Crossroads Care Center just before 10 p.m.

Officers found 86-year-old Doris Doust, a resident of the center, in bed with a gunshot wound to her head.

Her husband, 87-year-old George Doust, was sitting on an adjacent bed with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He was not a resident of the center.

They were both pronounced dead at a Sioux Falls hospital.
