Zach Moore Works Toward NFL Draft Day
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Zach Moore did not grow up in affluence and when he signed on to play at Concordia University in St. Paul, the NFL seemed light years away.
Moore grew up on the south side of Chicago.
“The south side of Chicago is notorious. You know you hear about a lot of the shootings and deaths, and, you know, the gang mentality that’s associated with it,” Moore said. “But my parents and my siblings did a good job raising me, keeping me out of trouble. Also my high school coaches.”
He helped further his football career, and his life, when he enrolled at Concordia University.
He began to fulfill his football dream as his years at Concordia went on.
“The past five years at Concordia has taught me a lot,” Moore said. “Really helped me, you know, flourish as a player and as a person.”
He was invited to the prestigious NFL combine and the pro days the past two months.
He’s been trying to impress the NFL by showing them that he can play, and he’s been having the time of his life in the process.
“It’s been a complete blast,” Moore said.
He’s making sure he can take care of the things he can control and that he is ready for any NFL opportunity.
He’s led by the sharp desire to take advantage of the chance of a lifetime.
“I mean he brings everything,” strength coach Ryan Englebert said. “Obviously the size, the physical specimen that he is, uh the speed, the strength. He’s got this whole package. But one thing that Zach has is he really wants it.”
So next weekend he will find out more about his NFL future, and he will set himself for his future beyond football because of football.
