Working For The Weekend: Entertainment Best Bets
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Mike Augustyniak has been telling us the weekend will finally start to feel like May. So let’s finally head outdoors for some fun this weekend. Jason Matheson rounded up some of the best events happening around town.
Mill City Farmers Market
Matheson called this his favorite farmers market in the Twin Cities because it has such a charm: “I feel like I’m in a Nora Ephron movie, just waiting for Tom Hanks or Meg Ryan to come around the corner and have some coffee with me.” The Mill City Farmers Market is on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is located at 704 South 2nd St. in Minneapolis.
It’s another sign of the season when the drive-ins start hopping. This one has been a St. Louis Park fixture in one form or another for decades. Their slogan: “Intergalactic, retro-futuristic, pet-friendly dining experience.”
Twice a year, this bingo extravaganza gets hosted by Miss Richfield 1981. Each event has its own theme. This one? “Red Carpet Bingo,” so dress in your finest. Some of the proceeds go to Park House and the Twin Cities Gay Men’s Chorus. It is being held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel Minneapolis on Saturday. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
