Minneapolis Police Reveal Crime-Fighting Strategy

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minneapolis Police Department is announcing new strategies to help fight crime and violence on the city's north side over the summer.

Several different federal, state, and local agencies will be involved in putting the plan to work to keep streets safe.

A few details of the plan have been released. Among them, authorities say they'll seek to aggressively prosecute crimes of gun violence in federal court. The plan also calls for putting school resource officers on bike patrols.

Community faith leaders will also be involved, and there will be "faith patrols" in the community.

Police plan to release more details Friday morning.
