MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A man struck a Minneapolis Police officer with his car before leading authorities on a high-speed chase in Minneapolis early Saturday morning.

Police responded to a domestic disturbance on the 2200 block of Pierce Avenue Northeast at about 4:30 a.m.

When they arrived, a man fled the residence, got in a vehicle and struck a police officer as he drove away.

A high-speed chase began and continued into north Minneapolis, where the suspect hit a tree on Penn Avenue. He tried to flee on foot, but was captured and arrested.

The officer struck by the suspect’s vehicle fell to the ground, but was not hurt.
