Local Music Tap: Mayda's 'Busy Signals' Album Release @ Turf Club
Electro pop performer Mayda is celebrating her brand new album, Busy Signals 1, at the Turf Club this Saturday.
South Korea-born and U.S.-adopted, Mayda's new album is inspired by her recent tour to South Korea and Europe. During her return to South Korea, she also found her birth parents, which helped to shape most of the songs on her album.
Mayda describes Busy Signals as sounding different from was fans might be used to, "blending more of an organic rough electro funk pop feel," and features DJ Chris Neviator, Michael Bland, Ryan Leistman, Danish Korean producer DJ NikoYu and others.
Doors open at 9 p.m. Saturday and will feature other performances by Mixed Blood Majority, DJ Neviator and Hiponymous Dance. Toki Wright is hosting. Click here for ticket information.
It's the last show at Turf Club before they renovate for the summer, so this will be your last chance to visit for a while!
In the meantime, check out her music video for "All I Have" below!
