Working For The Weekend: Entertainment Best Bets
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — It’s Thursday, and that means it’s time to start planning some fun. From food to festivals, you can bet there’s plenty to do this weekend.
And even if there’s bad weather, we’ve got a back-up plan.
Let’s be honest, you can never have enough options for delicious tacos. Lago Tacos is now open in the Lyn-Lake neighborhood in the same space that housed Heidi’s for years. They have a great happy hour, street-style tacos and great burritos.
After you’re done eating, head over to the Edina Art Fair to walk off those calories and shop some fantastic local art. Hundreds of great artists will showcase their talents and if you’re not into art, there’s fantastic people watching to be had. The Art Fair is at 50th and France and runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free.
Perhaps you’ve been there before but you may not know about a very special feature that’s relatively new at the Icon. They have something called Dolby ATMOS, which is like your basic surround sound system, multiplied by two trillion. You are surrounded by 60 speakers in the auditorium — they’re literally all around you, even on the ceiling. It is the ultimate movie watching experience.
