Working For The Weekend: Entertainment Best Bets
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – It’s Thursday, which can only mean one thing – it’s time to start looking ahead to the weekend!
Jason Matheson’s picks this week include festivals, funny ladies and, of course, some food!
And rain or shine, we’ve got things to keep you busy.
It may not officially be the summer season just yet, but the summer festival season has begun and this weekend is the Stone Arch Bridge Festival. The festival on the bridge kicks off Friday, June 13 with a concert by Mike Munson, Frankie Lee and The Cactus Blossoms. It runs 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, June 14 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 15, with more live music throughout the weekend. Admission is free.
Now this pick may not be for everyone. Funny lady Kathy Griffin is coming to Mystic Lake Resort and Casino Friday, June 13. Griffin is known from her show “Kathy Griffin: My Life On The D-List,” and her stand-up. While her humor may not be for everyone, the Mystic Lake Casino’s buffet certainly is. Tickets cost between $65 – $85 and are available online.
The Uptown Minneapolis eatery has opened a new late-night, walk-up window for those diners looking for a late snack. The will serve burgers, cheese curds and other items just for the late-night crowd. The window will be open Thursday through Saturday from 11 p.m. to 2:15 a.m. Coup d’Etat is located at 2923 Girard Avenue South, right across from the Lagoon Theater.
