Shriners Walk For Love And Family Festival
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Accomplish MN wants to bring to your attention an upcoming event that will benefit the Shriners Hospital for Children—Twin Cities. The Walk for Love and Family Festival is scheduled to take place at Loring Park at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 5.
The registration fee for the walk is $25, and the walk is approximately 1.5 miles in length.
Among the people who will be on hand at the Walk for Love will be actor RJ Mitte, who played the son of Bryan Cranston's Walter White in the Emmy Award-winning TV series "Breaking Bad." He will share his personal story of how Shriners Hospitals for Children provided him with treatment for cerebral palsy.
Here are some other bits of information on the event from the Shriners Hospital:
- Teams and individuals are encouraged to raise funds leading up to the event to benefit the patients of Shriners Hospitals for Children. There are also lots of great fundraising prizes available too!
- It is a festival-like event so in addition to the Walk there will be food vendors, activities for people of all ages, and lots of other great things to check out.
- Even if you already have plans for July 5th, you can still participate by signing up as a virtual walker, or by making a donation today.
- By walking with us you can do your part to send Love to the rescue®.
In addition to the walk, the event also features face painting, a check-up clinic for your favorite stuffed animal, inflatable toys to play on, and other activities for children.
The Walk will be held rain or shine, according to event organizers.
