State Patrol: Man Injured After Semi's Trailer Blown Over Onto SUV

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 41-year-old Worthington man is in the hospital after wind caused a semi's trailer to tip and fall on top of the SUV he was driving on Monday.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2001 Honda CR-V was traveling westbound on Highway 60 west of Brewster during a strong thunderstorm at around 4:17 p.m. A 2014 Freightliner TR was traveling nearby with an empty trailer when a gust of wind blew the trailer onto the SUV.

The SUV driver, identified as Armando Nava, was taken to the Worthington Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The semi driver, identified as 25-year-old Collin Powell of San Tan Valley, Ariz., had no documented injuries.

The Nobles County Sheriff's Office, Jackson County Sheriff's Office, Brewster Fire Department and the Minnesota DNR assisted the state patrol at the scene.
