Sartell Man Drowns In Crow Wing Co. Lake
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 44-year-old Sartell man drowned while swimming in Clearwater Lake Thursday afternoon, according to the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities responded to a call of a man missing in the lake around 1:37 p.m.
Gary Thomas Steichen was with a group of friends who had been out on the water on a pontoon boat.
Police say the group stopped the boat to go swimming, but Steichen did not resurface after jumping into the lake.
A dive team found him in 20 feet of water at about 5:04 p.m.
Foul play is not suspected.
