MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Three people suffered serious injuries in a three-car crash in Washington County Saturday morning.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash happened at about 10:15 a.m. at Highway 97 and Healy Avenue near Forest Lake.

Taylor Lafferty, 21, was driving eastbound on Hwy 91 in a Chevy Cruze. He prepared to turn southbound onto Healy Avenue when he was struck from behind by 50-year-old Robbin Elman, of Osceola, Wis., in a Chrysler Town and Country van.

Lafferty was launched forward into traffic, and hit Karlind and Susan Moller head-on in a Saturn Aura.

Elman and the Mollers, both 72 and from Shoreview, all suffered serious injuries.

Elman’s passengers, Tyson Elman, 15, and 8-year-old Rosalina Belmares, both suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Lafferty’s injuries are also non-life threatening.

The State Patrol is investigating.
