MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or people responsible in a Mankato shooting in April that left one dead and three others hurt.

The incident happened at about 2 a.m. on April 20 during an altercation in the parking lot of the Kato Ballroom in Mankato. Police said Poth Acouth was shot to death after attending a Sudanese cultural event there following a basketball tournament at Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Police said one person was arrested and a handgun was recovered at the scene the night of the incident. Two others were also arrested for obstruction of the legal process.

Officials with the Kato Ballroom said the event was peaceful until about 1:45 a.m., when there was an announcement that it was time to leave. At that point, an altercation broke out among some students, but the shootings happened in the parking lot outside.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Mankato Police at (507) 387-8774 or the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension at (877) 996-6222.
