MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 20-year-old Minneapolis man was charged Thursday with three counts each of attempted second-degree murder and first-degree assault for the shooting of three women in north Minneapolis, according to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office.

Delonte Ahshone Thomas is accused of returning to a party on the 3500 block of Fremont Avenue North in the early morning of July 9 with a semi-automatic gun after leaving due to a dispute with fellow guests.

According to the criminal complaint, Thomas fired numerous shots at people behind the residence. One woman was shot nine times in her upper arm, pelvis abdomen, thigh, back and buttocks.

Another woman was shot eight times, including one which hit the center of her chest.

And a third woman suffered eight gunshot wounds to her left leg and one to her right leg.

All three victims underwent surgery and are expected to recover.

Thomas is in custody, and bail has been requested in the amount of $1 million.
