MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Officials in western Wisconsin said Thursday afternoon that the body of a missing 45-year-old man was found in the Red Cedar River.

Police in Menomonie, Wis., said that Joseph Albert Briske was found dead in the water, the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office said.

Officials had asked for the public’s help in finding Briske, who left his home in Hudson, Wis., early Monday morning without telling anyone.

Officials say Briske’s death and disappearance are still under investigation.
