State Patrol: Driver Sought In Washington County Hit-And-Run

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities are looking for the driver of a car that hit two bicyclists on a frontage road late Saturday night and left the scene, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The incident happened at about 11:52 p.m. on the 14000 block of 60th Street North in Oak Park Heights. When officers arrived, they learned two bicyclists were traveling westbound on a frontage road along Highway 36 when they were both hit by a vehicle that then fled the scene. Minnesota State Patrol Lieutenant Eric Roeske said the injured bikers did not see the car.

A 35-year-old woman from Minneapolis was seriously hurt in the accident and taken to Regions Hospital. A 37-year-old man from St. Paul was also taken to Regions Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Minnesota State Patrol said the accident is under investigation as they have no leads on a suspect vehicle.

"We believe based on the evidence and injuries, the vehicle would have damage on the front end of the vehicle," Roeske said.
