MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 24-year-old man was arrested Saturday after a woman fell off a boat and was run over on Whitefish Lake, according to the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities received a report at about 6:30 p.m. of a woman hurt after falling from the boat she was riding in. The woman, 21 of Greenwood, Minn., fell off the front of an inboard wake board boat being driven by 24-year-old Thomas Ryan of Colorado.

The boat then ran her over, causing the woman to suffer severe lacerations to her leg. She was airlifted to North Memorial Medical Center for her injuries.

Ryan was arrested on suspicion boating under the influence in connection with the incident, which is still under investigation. The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Crosslake and Pequot Lakes Police, North Ambulance and the Ideal Fire Department.
