MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Minnesota health officials are investigating after nine people got E. coli at the Rice County Fair. At least five of those people had to be hospitalized.

The Minnesota Department of Health believes the bacteria came from the Rice County Fair.

The fair was held from July 15 through July 20. Generally, the time between ingesting the bacteria and feeling sick is usually 3 to 10 days.

Health officials say there may be more cases confirmed in the coming days.
