Burke Says Nothing Changes With Wis. Primary Win

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Former Trek Bicycles executive Mary Burke says nothing will change in her campaign for governor even though she is now officially the Democratic Party's nominee.

Burke easily defeated state Rep. Brett Hulsey in the Democratic primary Tuesday.

Burke now will officially face Republican Gov. Scott Walker in the Nov. 4 general election. The two of them have been focused on each other for months, ignoring Hulsey.

Burke tells The Associated Press in a phone interview from Rhinelander where she is campaigning that her game plan remains the same. She says she's making sure the people get to know her and what her plans will be as governor.

Burke says she will focus on communicating the specifics of her plans to improve the state's economy and put people back to work.
