Timberwolves Open 2014-15 Season At Memphis

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Timberwolves announced their 2014-15 regular season schedule on Wednesday along with the rest of the NBA. Now it's just a matter of who will be on the roster when things get moving in late October.

The Timberwolves will open the regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at the Memphis Grizzlies. It's the first time since the 2000-01 season that the Timberwolves will open the regular season on the road.

Minnesota's home opener will be the next night, Thursday, Oct. 30, against the Detroit Pistons. The Timberwolves will play four nationally televised games, starting Nov. 1 against the Chicago Bulls on NBA TV. The other games are Nov. 12 against the Houston Rockets in Mexico City, Jan. 7 against Phoenix on ESPN and April 10 against the L.A. Lakers on NBA TV.

The regular season will also feature four different four-game home stands. The first is Nov. 19-26, highlighted by a Nov. 21 game against the defending champion San Antonio Spurs.

And if the proposed trade of Kevin Love to Cleveland for Andrew Wiggins and others actually happens, the Timberwolves will face LeBron James and Love in Cleveland on Dec. 23. The Cavaliers come to Minneapolis to face the Timberwolves on Jan. 31. Former Timberwolves player Kevin Garnett makes his return to Minneapolis with the Brooklyn Nets on March 16.
