MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Lynx, which is the No. 2 seed for the WNBA Playoffs, will face the San Antonio Silver Stars in the Western Conference semifinals.

The series, which will be a best-of-three games, starts at 8 p.m. Thursday at Target Center. Game two will be in San Antonio Saturday night, and if a third game is needed, it would be Monday, Aug. 25, at Target Center.

Minnesota is looking for its third WNBA title in the last four seasons. The Lynx finished the season series against the Silver Stars 4-1. The Lynx have also won eight of their past nine games against San Antonio. The two teams met in the 2011 playoffs, with the Lynx winning the series 2-1.

The Lynx finished the regular season 25-9 and became the first team in WNBA history to have at least 25 regular season wins four straight years. The winner of the series faces the winner of the Phoenix/L.A. Sparks in the Western Conference finals. The Phoenix Mercury finished the regular season with the best record in the league.
