Friends Collect $10K In Reward Fund To Find Arden Hills Suspect

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Friends of the man gunned down at a Twin Cities gas station have now created a reward fund in hopes of finding the shooter, and have already collected $10,000.

Kelly Phillips was shot and killed at a Holiday gas station in Arden Hills last week. Police believe Phillips' ex-boyfriend Lyle "Ty" Hoffman is responsible for his death.

Hoffman has been on the run since the shooting.

Friends of Phillips came together to drum up $10,000. They're offering the money for information about Hoffman's whereabouts.

"For the last week the friends and family of Kelly Phillips have given our thoughts and hearts to his memory, and to trying to bring some kind of peace and comfort to his family, his fiancé, and to ourselves," friend Dave Michela said in a press release. "While those efforts continue, there is a critical element to this tragedy that must be resolved before anyone can truly start to heal. We must find Ty Hoffman."

This reward is in addition to the $1,000 reward being offered by Crime Stoppers. You can also help by donating to the Kelly Phillips Reward Fund.
