Franken Pivots To McFadden In Latest Ad

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- U.S. Sen. Al Franken's campaign is slowly shifting course by drawing attention to his Republican opponent.

Franken calls out businessman Mike McFadden by name for the first time in his latest TV ad, accusing the Republican candidate of attacking Franken and misleading voters. Much like his previous ads, it goes on to extol Franken's five-year tenure in the Senate. Headlines of bills and amendments passed flash on the screen.

The freshman Democrat's new ad was released this week.

McFadden's campaign has opted for lighthearted ads that mix in small jabs at Franken. The spots criticizing the incumbent for casting a crucial vote for President Barack Obama's health care law. McFadden's campaign is standing behind the assertions that Franken has been loyal to Obama policies.
