Local Music Tap: P.O.S. To Headline Downtown Mpls. Block Party

Minneapolis-based rapper P.O.S. is celebrating his return from a kidney transplant by headlining "The Best F---ing Show Ever" block party in downtown Minneapolis this Saturday.

P.O.S. – also known as Stefon Alexander – will be joined by artists SZA, Poliça (DJ set), Le1f, Busdriver, Open Mike Eagle and others at the show, located on the northeast corner of 1st Avenue North and 4th Street North – by Pizza Luce.

The block party, curated by P.O.S., starts at 5 p.m. and tickets are selling for $10 and $15.

There is also an after party at First Avenue Mainroom, featuring Dam Funk and Lazerbeak, starting at 10 p.m. Tickets are $10.

Alexander is the co-founder of the hip hop collective Doomtree. In 2012, his national tour supporting his album "We Don't Even Live Here" was canceled when he made his struggle with kidney disease public. He received a kidney transplant in March 2014.
