State Patrol: 2 Dead, 4 Injured In SW Minn. Crash

FULDA, Minn. (WCCO/AP) -- The Minnesota State Patrol says two people died in a car crash that also injured four other people -- including two children - over the weekend.

The patrol says two cars crashed in a broadside accident Sunday afternoon in Murray County near Fulda.

When officers arrived to the scene, they learned a 2005 Chevy Impala was headed westbound on County Road 3 and a 2009 Toyota Rav 4 was headed southbound on Highway 59 when the two vehicles collided in the intersection. Both vehicles ended up in the ditch of the southwest corner at the intersection, authorities said.

The passenger of the Chevy, identified as 24-year-old Kristen J. Boynton of Perry, Ga., was killed in the crash. One of the passengers in the Toyota, identified as 34-year-old Kerry Schulz of Worthington, Minn., was also killed.

Both drivers of the crash -- identified as 24-year-old Charles Goode of Lewisville, N.C. and 38-year-old David Schulz of Worthington, Minn. -- were seriously injured.

Two passengers of Toyota, a 12-year-old and 9-year-old, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities are investigating the crash.
