12 People Indicted In Minnesota Drug Case

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Federal authorities have indicted 12 people who they say were involved in a drug trafficking operation run out of a Spring Lake Park auto repair shop.

U.S. Attorney Andy Luger says the suspects were indicted on a charge of conspiring to distribute methamphetamine and marijuana in Minnesota after authorities on Wednesday raided residences in Minnesota, California and Illinois. Six of the people are from Minnesota. Four people appeared in court Wednesday.

Law enforcement officials say they have seized about $600,000 in cash, 47 pounds of meth, 10 pounds of marijuana and a handgun from the group since August 2011.

The special agent in charge of Homeland Security investigations in St. Paul says the investigation has dismantled an organization "responsible for flooding the Twin Cities with methamphetamine."
